A synthetic fibre derived from coal, air, water and petroleum. Polyester Fibre is a manufactured fibre in which the fibre forming substance is any long-chain synthetic polymer composed of at least 85% by weight of an ester of a substituted aromatic carboxylic acid, including but not restricted to substituted terephthalic units, p(-R-O-CO- C6H4-CO-O-)xand parasubstituted hydroxy-benzoate units, p(-R-O-CO-C6H4-O-)x.
Yarn for apparel and home furnishings usually have deniers ranging from 80 to 160.A dominant share of polyester filament yarn is used as textured yarn.Texturing modifies the filament yarn to increase properties such as bulk, resilience, abrasion resistance, warmth and insulator give a softer, more natural hand to the final fabric.
